On March 28th, according to documents disclosed by SK Hynix to the South Korean financial regulatory agency FSS, the company has completed the second phase of its acquisition of Intel's NAND flash and SSD business today local time, and the transaction has been officially completed.
This transaction was announced to the public at the end of 2020, and the first phase was completed on December 30, 2021. SK Hynix paid approximately $6.61 billion in 7842.2 billion Korean won to take over the SSD business and assets of its NAND flash memory manufacturing plant located in Dalian, China from Intel. In the second phase, SK Hynix acquired other tangible/intangible assets, including intellectual property related to the production and design of NAND flash memory wafers, research and development personnel, and employees at the Dalian factory, for a consideration of 3278.3 billion Korean won/2.24 billion US dollars (IT Home note: the current exchange rate is approximately 16.28 billion yuan).
