At WWDC2024, Apple announced a partnership with OpenAI to introduce AI big models into mobile phones, Mac, and iPad products. AI should be able to understand and generate natural language, images, understand personal situations, and process information as much as possible on the device side, recognizing but not collecting data. With the support of Apple Intelligence, the performance of Apple's voice assistant Siri has significantly improved.
Renowned Apple analyst Guo Minggui believes that after the end of this WWDC, Apple will no longer be seen as a laggard in the AI industry. AI will be ubiquitous in Apple's main applications. The cooperation between Apple and OpenAI may mainly stay at the AI Wrapper level. The focus of the AI services/features jointly launched by both parties is whether they have a unique and sustainable competitive advantage, which means that the manufacturers cooperating with Apple must have some form of exclusive cooperation with Apple, and Apple can also partially participate in controlling the development progress of the partner's big language model to ensure service quality and future upgrades.
