Intel has announced the Intel Xeon 6 performance core processor (codenamed Granite Rapids), which follows the recent release of Intel's Xeon 6 energy-efficient core processor in June of this year.
“Facing the demand for higher quality and more diverse arithmetic in the AI era, Intel is introducing the most powerful Xeon 6 processors ever - the Xeon 6900P series. Xeon 6 performance processors come with a new CPU core microarchitecture, Intel 3 process and up to 504MB of L3 cache, while supporting 12 memory channels and MRDIMM memory technology for transfer speeds up to 8800 MT/s. With powerful compute densities, leading single-core performance, higher memory bandwidth and I/O, and excellent power efficiency, the Xeon 6 performance core processors are able to meet the challenges of the rich and diverse workloads in the data center.” said Baoli Chen, vice president and general manager of Intel's Data Center and Artificial Intelligence Group, China.
